Mr. Kazi Khurram Ahmed is a Computer Engineering alumnus of Purdue University, USA, and a Fellow of the National Defence College. He also serves as the Honorary Consul of The Gambia in Bangladesh.
Mr. Ahmed is the author of The Dark Science of Logical Fallacies, which achieved the No. 1 bestseller position on Amazon.com and has been incorporated into the academic curricula of the University of Dhaka and the Canadian University of Bangladesh.
In 2010, he was recognized as one of the “Leading Professionals of the World” by the International Biographical Centre, UK. During the same period, the American Biographical Institute named him “Man of the Year.”
Prior to joining the Board of Standard Islami Bank PLC., Mr. Ahmed served as a Director of SBL Capital Management Limited and as a Member of the Shariah Supervisory Committee of Standard Islami Bank PLC. Through these roles, he has contributed to various policy and strategic matters of the Bank.
Mr. Ahmed has extensive experience in diverse business sectors spanning more than 16 years. He currently serves as Director of Eastern Engineering Works Limited, Proprietor of Ahmed & Sons, and Chairman & Managing Director of EMX Limited. He has also served as Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
He has a strong interest in global financial markets, with particular emphasis on foreign exchange and commodity markets. His areas of expertise include the operational dynamics of commodity and foreign exchange markets, as well as exchange-traded financial products.
Mr. Ahmed is the only son of Mr. Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Bank and a former International Director of Lions Clubs International. Inspired by his family's commitment to community service, he became involved in Lionism at an early age and has participated in a wide range of humanitarian and social welfare initiatives.
